Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, and (for students) register number and batch, provided when you sign up.
• Usage data: test and quiz attempts, scores, progress, and activity within materials and tests.
• Live Quiz & game data: nickname, in-session scores, and avatar/game statistics for Live Quiz and Solo Adventure sessions — including for guests who play without creating an account.
• Technical data: basic device/browser information collected automatically for security and to keep the service running reliably.

How we use it

We use the information above to:

• Operate your account and let you access materials, tests, and results
• Track progress and generate performance reports for you and, where applicable, your institution's admins
• Run Live Quiz sessions and games in real time, including public leaderboards visible to other participants in the same session
• Maintain the security and integrity of the platform

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Guest / no-account usage

Live Quiz and Solo Adventure can be used without creating an account. In these cases, a temporary, anonymous session is created to let the game function (track scores, sync a live leaderboard, etc.). This session is not linked to a real name or email unless you separately create an account.

Third-party services

Brainboost is built on Supabase for authentication, database, and real-time features. Supabase processes data on our behalf under its own security and privacy practices. We don't share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

Cookies & local storage

We use essential cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and to support guest sessions in Live Quiz and games. We don't use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.

Data retention & deletion

We retain account and activity data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, email us at mithrasurya34@gmail.com and we'll process the request.

Children's privacy

Brainboost is intended for college-level students and staff. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
